What is an Exercise Physiologist (EP)?
EPs are allied health professionals who specialise in the delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic diseases and injuries. EPs provide physical activity and behaviour change support for clients with conditions such as diabetes, osteoporosis, depression, cancer, arthritis, musculoskeletal pain and many more.
EP’s are accredited and can therefore register with Medicare Australia, the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) and Private Health Insurers (including HICAPs). EPs can also provide conditioning programs for people on WorkCover and other compensation schemes.

Lifestyle programs such as the ‘Healthy Eating Activity and Lifestyle’ (HEAL) Programs are lifestyle modification program that enables participants to develop lifelong healthy eating and physical activity behaviours. HEAL™ consists of 8 weekly group education and group exercise sessions as well as individual consultations pre- and post-program and 5 and 12 month follow-up health consultations.
